Hello, fellow collectors and investors!
After months of development and refining our strategy, the team at CardVestr is incredibly excited to announce the official launch of our systematic sports card investing journey, starting this January 2026.
We believe the sports card market, like traditional equities, rewards discipline and a focus on fundamental value. That’s why we’re embarking on a unique approach, inspired by the principles of Dividend Growth Investing. Forget the hype and the fleeting trends; our mission is to build a robust portfolio of “Sports Card Aristocrats”—the true blue-chip assets of the hobby.
Our Commitment to Transparency & Real-Time Tracking
From this day forward, our journey will be fully documented, with complete transparency at its core. At the end of each month, we will publish a detailed report showcasing our portfolio’s performance, current allocations, and the “why” behind every decision. You’ll see our wins, our challenges, and every step of our systematic process unfold throughout the year.
Even better, you can follow our portfolio’s progress in real-time on Card Ladder! We’ll be showcasing all our acquisitions and their market values directly on their platform. You can track our entire CardVestr collection here:

The Aristocrat Investing Strategy: Our Guiding Principles
We are rigorously applying our proprietary “Aristocrat Checklist” to every potential acquisition. This means we’re only investing in:
- Established Legends: Players with undeniable legacies and proven historical hobby demand.
- PSA-Graded Cards: Ensuring authenticity and condition are professionally verified.
- Price Appreciation & Stability: Cards demonstrating consistent, long-term growth, not speculative spikes.
- Controlled Supply: Monitoring PSA population reports to avoid diluted value.
Crucially, we’re operating with strict financial guardrails. We’ve set a monthly budget of $2,000 for acquisitions and will never exceed this amount for a single card. This discipline ensures we build a diversified, resilient portfolio without over-leveraging.
Our First Acquisition: The 1989 Ken Griffey Jr. Upper Deck #1 (PSA 9)
To kick off our portfolio, we are thrilled to announce our first purchase: the 1989 Ken Griffey Jr. Upper Deck #1 in a PSA 9 grade. Click here for the full acquisition strategy.
This card perfectly embodies our Aristocrat strategy. Griffey Jr. is a generational talent, a universally beloved Hall of Famer, and his iconic Upper Deck rookie card is a cornerstone of the modern hobby. Despite its relatively high population, its consistent demand and strong liquidity make it an ideal “dividend-paying” asset in our portfolio. It checks all the boxes on our Aristocrat Checklist, setting a strong foundation for our journey.
